When the 9-1-1 Call Involves Someone You Know

Presentation by: Brian Lamonica, Southampton Village Police Department

                                                     APCO - Atlantic Chapter President

On September 23rd, 2017 Brian Lamonica's worst nightmare came true.  His wife was struck by an unoccupied military Humvee and was critically injured.  Driving to the hospital he realized his 20-year-old son with 5 months on the job took the 911 calls for his mother’s accident and did not know it was her.  In this heart wrenching presentation, he will review the incident, his dealings with the media, the mistakes he made and how the pre-arrival instructions given by the dispatchers saved his wife’s life.  This will be the first time this topic is presented.
